Businesses and Employers have extensive duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. HMS offer a wide range of Health and Safety Training Courses and Health and Safety Consultancy nationwide to provide solutions to these duties/legal requirements in the act. Aim: To develop the skills, knowledge and attitude which will promote correct fire safety awareness amongst learners. This course also involves a practical demonstration.

Session 4 ​Fire in business.
Session 5 ​Fire prevention.
Session 6 Fire ignition starters and chemistry.
Session 7 Fire extinguishers and fire safety equipment
Session 8 ​Fire safety alarms.
Session 9 Recap and exam.

Duration: 2-3 hours
Location: On-site
Numbers: 15 persons

Aim: An in-depth examination of the use of all visual display units (VDU) and display screen equipment (DSE) workstations. As with other equipment, overuse or incorrect use will almost certainly lead to difficulties for employees.
 
Requirement overview:
Chapter 5, Part 2 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations, 2007 states that “employers must ensure that the general use of workspace equipment is not a source of risk for the employee”.
This act also goes on to state that an employer must perform an analysis of the workstation in order to evaluate the safety and health conditions to which it gives rise for the employees, particularly as regards possible risks to eyesight, physical problems and problems of mental stress, and, on the basis of that evaluation, take appropriate measures to remedy any risks found.
